I Love Chicken Wings

As noted last week, we had the best part of the wedding --- the reception --- to attend in Evansville. Genny, Randy, Sarah and I drove down on Saturday and hit the casino for a while and then we headed over to the reception. I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive at first because I didn't know what type of food they were having or if they were having wedding cake (let's be honest, we all go to receptions for one reason - the food/wedding cake). Again, I had no idea who this couple was, so I was pretty relaxed going in. As I entered, I found a beautiful spread of chicken wings and finger foods......Jackpot. I was introduced to a few people and then I made a quick beeline for the wings. They had mild, medium and hot. I loaded up on some of each and attempted to eat my body weight in those and several mini sandwiches. After that, I turned to find a nice looking wedding cake and those little mints that always accompany it. Now my thoughts turn to what kind of cake it is. Chances are it's your run of the mill white cake, but what if it's something else...something cool that I don't even know about. At this point, I can only think about interrupting the new couples first dance to request that they cut the cake. Time slowed down for me. Seconds turned into minutes. Minutes into hours. The nerve of this couple to make guests like myself wait for cake.
Finally, the wait was over and they cut the cake. I quickly notice that it's a mixed cake....some chocolate and some vanilla......life is good to me. A young lady that was helping gets the first piece and heads over to our table to offer it to Randy. Randy accepts and I am left sitting there salivating. Life is not so good to me. After a few tense minutes of cursing Randy, I can't wait any longer so I make my way to the cake table and pick out the largest piece of chocolate cake that I can find and then pile on some mints.....life is good again. (Darn Randy). One bite and I realize two things: 1) the cake is really good, and 2) I need milk.
I didn't get the milk, but I did finish my cake and then made quick work of what was left of Sarah's white cake (hey, I like variety). Then, later in the night, the family that was sitting with us left a monster piece of chocolate cake at their seat. They got it for one of their punk kids and he didn't eat it (kids are so wasteful and disrespectful these days), but his loss is my gain. I called dibs on it and polished it off too. After that, I was rolled out of the reception hall and placed back at my seat at the poker table. I won a little money at the poker tables, but not a lot.

By the way, check out the palm tree leaves about Randy and Sarah's head in the pictures. It's nothing super significant, I just thought it was funny.

The girl that got married is Casey Hobson. When I was younger, our parents were friends down in Ft. Branch where we used to live when my parents were married. So it wasn't some randon wedding we decided to crash, we actualy knew them and their family.

Daniel doesn't remember, but she and her mom came to our wedding.

And we know you love cake Daniel because that is all you talked about on our way there... up until the little girl finally served you the cake. Then of course you ate my piece and went back for thirds.

How is that diet coming by the way?

how did you write this whole post and mention nothing of the green wings coming out of Randy and Sarah's heads. What kind of freaks were these people that they would make you wear head gear like that?
