Back by Popular Demand

Well, it has been a rough week at the office. My computer crashed (motherboard fried) last week and I have been without access to anything for good while. The good news is that my new computer is in and most of my material has been or is being restored. There is the possibility that my contacts and email information will be lost. As a favor to me, could you please send me an email with your contact information so I can add the information. Right now, it's not looking good for my retrieval of my contact/appointment list. It will be a slow process getting everything back, but I'm working on it. It makes me think of the "PC Load letter" scene in Office Space where they take the printer into a field and then go nuts on it.....classic. I apologize to everyone that hasn't received email responses or updates from me over the last week. Like I said, the good news is that I'm back now and ready to get rolling again. Also in my absence, the Colts handed the Patriots a sweet defeat. I'm not going to lie, I really thought that New England had us beat (stupid Patriots), but then Bill BelliCHEAT gave us a great gift (stupid Billicheat). Look at our crew above....we make this look good.

The Kid is Showing Some Potential

We are 8 months in and the kid is finally showing some potential. India suited up over the weekend in her camouflage overalls. What does this mean? Well, for me it means another person who will out hunt me once she can pull back a bow. And, the potential for dad to profit from a prime time TV series showing her on various hunts. I can smell the money already!

Also, she is zombie-dragging herself across the floor now. It's not quite a crawl, but she is working on it. Sarah keeps saying, "any day now she'll be crawling", but it hasn't happened yet. She may just go directly to walking....or better yet, running. In which case, she will immediately begin training to become America's fastest female marathoner......again, I can smell the money coming in from all the endorsements. I wonder if Asics would sponsor a 5 year old marathoner?

Nice Thoughts

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Allyn Elisabeth

Here are some new photos of Allyn Elisabeth. She is so adorable. I love these photos.

I love her face in this photo, those chubby little cheeks. I think she looks a lot like her cousin India here.

India Marie

Covered Bridge (posted by Sarah)

Somer, Mom, and I all went to Bridgeton this year for the Covered Bridge Festival. We enjoyed having a few hour break from the kids to just eat, shop, and eat some more. If you look closely, you can see here that Somer and I are displaying our packages of tasty, roasted nuts that we just purchased. We each ate our weight in food, sweet tea, and fruity drinks. It was great spending time with my mom and sister. The best find of the day was our vintage typewriter key necklaces. I do not have a photo to share of us wearing them, but check out The Vintage Key website for more information.

ISU Has Done It....

The losing streak is over. After 33 consecutive losses, the Indiana State University football team has snapped it's losing streak. I didn't go to the game, but I heard it was a great effort and that we looked pretty good. We played perennial powerhouse Western Illinois, who is now 1-6 this season. It was a shootout, but we pulled out a 17-14 victory. What a great way to end homecoming week.....and end the nations longest losing streak in NCAA football. Way to go Sycamores!
And, in local news........

Another Good Year at ThrallsFest

It was another great year for ThrallsFest. The weather was colder than prior year's but I think everyone made due next to fire pits and with the help of their favorite beverage. Thanks for having us all Mary Lu and Greg!
As you can see from this picture, John and I were doing our best to pick up ladies that were way out of our league. But, let's be honest, as the night wears on and the "liquid wing man" kicks in, all bets are off. At midnight, the ladies think John and I both look like Brad Pitt.

The Great Pumpkin

Sarah, India and I made it out to Pumpkin Works a few nights ago. It was a pretty good time (mainly because I didn't have to buy a $20 pumpkin).
India got to pick out a "baby" pumpkin to chew on while we were there and she played in the corn room.
And, as the Pigg family, we were required to put our faces in the Three Little Pigs cutouts. We rock!
Grandpa and Grandma Edwardson also got in on the action. We are lucky to have people meet us when we are out, because it's hard to get good pictures, eat, or do the simple tasks when their are just the three of us.
We'll be around trick-or-treating next week. With any luck, The Great Pumpkin will visit us this year and bring India lots of candy. As she is only 7 months old, she can't eat candy. So, as her father, I will be forced to indulge in whatever treats she gets. India (i.e. Dad) is picky, so don't go cheap on us and make it something chocolate!

Still No Teeth

At what point do kids get teeth? We are at 7 months....and still no teeth. She's struggled eating the pizza that I give her without teeth. It will be nice when they come in, so I can teach her how to open bottles with them.

Still the King of the Forest!

Ever wonder what creeps around in the shadows near your place? Ever heard the "experts" say that all the stories of people seeing these animals are totally false?
As reigning King of the Forest, I can tell you that you might not want to know what's really out there....watching you. Keep your eyes open for the big cats that run around in your woods....they are out there.
This cat is truly an elusive animal and very beautiful. You don't see many of them and you rarely have a shot on one. With deer season just one short day away, I thought this would fire up some of the hunters who will be heading out to bag a trophy.

Miami's newest player?

Apparently anyone can start for Miami these days. The newest addition to the team is "Dangerous" Dana Edwardson. I'd be careful boys, it looks like she's packing (if you know what I mean!).
The Edwardson crew was down in Miami for the Colts vs. Miami Dolphins game at Landshark Stadium. They also got to see Jimmy Buffett perform before the game. All while we were stuck at home taking life's normal beatings!!! The Colt's cranked out a beautiful win, so life went on for the remainder of last week. Both of Miami's fans were very disappointed in the outcome. The halftime show included Serena Williams threatening to shove the football up Peyton Manning's *ss.

Oklahoma is OK

What do you do as soon as you get to Tulsa Oklahoma? You go directly to Drysdales and buy a pair of cowboy boots.  That's right.....it's state law.   I just found out.
Neil and Dillard insisted that I get a pair, so I obliged.  I've never in my life wore cowboy boots. But, I got a good deal due to a tent sale and I had to have something to wear for Saturday's festivities.  What are Saturday's festivities??? I have no idea.
We have a Strikeforce fighting event tonight (it should be on Showtime if you want to catch it).  Tomorrow we have the Tulsa football game (and tailgating).  I'll keep you updated as the day progresses.

You Might Be From West T if...

You might be from West T if your main means of transportation has to be under 50cc's so you don't have the have a drivers license.....since you lost it after your second DUI anyway.
Isn't it amazing what you see on the drive through West Terre Haute? The only thing missing is a meth lab!

South Haven???

That's right, our last quick vacation was to South Haven. What the heck is in South Haven? For those of you who don't know, South Haven is in Michigan. It sits on Lake Michigan. It's a very laid back place to visit. If you like small specialty shops and walking the beach, this could be the place for you. The beach house we stayed in was really nice. The owners did a great job when they built it and we had everything we needed to stay happy during our stay (a kit to make s'mores, two nice restrooms for the Edwardson side, a fire pit, rocking chairs, poker chips, and cable to watch football on Sunday).
I burnt through about 2 quarts of ice cream and a ton of other good food during out stay...so, for me, it was a good vacation. Our major events included going to Paw Paw for a wine festival, the beach, and going fishing. I'm pretty sure that I out fished (or out talked) everyone on the fishing trip. Sometimes it's tough to be this good.

Taking over the World....10 Acres at a time!

Here is a quick pic of the 10 acres that Sarah and I (and India and Dax) just bought. This is the rough side of the property where the drive will go in someday. The other side of the property is about 4 acres of lake property....it's awesome. I'll get a picture from the lake this week to give you an idea. It will make a great spot for a secluded cabin (aka Giant Man room). I really like this lot and I was hoping that we would get it someday. It connects to the other 40 acres in the Pigg Compound.

Happy Friday

Here we are again....Happy Friday!
We have a good weekend ahead of us...Friday night football, pouring concrete in the morning, and then installing kitchen cabinets and vanities in three places. My anticipation is building by the moment.
I should note that deer season is a mere 2 weeks away. It should be another interesting year. I'm fired up already!

Wish You Were Here

We are having a great time here in South Haven. We arrived Thursday afternoon after a decent drive over --- only about 6 hours including stopping to crank it out at Crackerbarrel.
We went out for a nice dinner at Clementines our first night and then shut it down. Friday morning we headed over to the beach to check out the ladies. Me and my two ladies (here at the beach in front of the lighthouse) had a pretty good time at the beach. This was India's first trip to the beach. The water was freezing, but she loved it. I'll have some video later.

Can Tuesday feel like Monday?

Does Tuesday have a feel? Monday has a feel, but Tuesday??? I don't know. I know that tomorrow will feel like Friday for me since it is my last day at the office before we head out on a quick vacation to South Haven. So, I guess Wednesday can feel like a Friday....sometimes. The weekend went pretty well. Sarah took me out for a birthday dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise. It was mixture of birthday/anniversary festivities. I had one of their signature drinks, which was quite tasty (thanks for the recommendation Zach!). After that, we went a played a quick game of cards at Grandma Rita's. Not a bad Friday night. Sarah ditched me again, so I had to get a ride home with John and Thom. Ridiculous. She was asleep when I got home, so the birthday/anniversary festivities were officially over.
Then, we cranked out a cookout at Genny and Randy's place on Sunday. It was great to see everyone and catch-up.
Sarah and closed it out yesterday by working around the house and working a little on the apartments. Long weekends are exhausting! Now we have to turn around and be ready to take off on Thursday for an extra long weekend. I'm tired already.

My Birthday Suit

I'm sitting here my office wearing nothing but my birthday suit. Now, I'm an insurance agent, so my actual birthday suit is actually khaki pants and a button up dress shirt (I left the top button undone today just to show the world that I'm letting loose a little ---us insurance agents know how to party). Sarah and India got me a sweet pocket video camera as a gift. The great thing is, I can now very easily upload short videos online. I love it. So, starting next week, you will have some random video's mixed in on the blog. As this is a family blog, I will avoid posting the intimate videos and try to keep most of it PG or NC-17 at worst.

Also.....don't forget that this is Sarah and I's 5th anniversary. That's right, I pulled off the anniversary on my birthday. It's hard to believe that Sarah has put up with me for five long years.
I've had several people tell me pretty honestly that I married up. No question, Sarah is too good for me. She is a beautiful wife and I am very lucky to have her. Trust me, I've sat around a lot and thought about why she would be with a hoser like me....and then out of nowhere it clicked...it could be 1) my dashing good looks, or 2) my great body, or 3) my super intelligence, or 4) my knowledge of UFC and insurance...........come to think of it, I'm the total package! I have it all. Sarah is lucky to have me. I could be some lucky lady's trophy husband one day.
Only kidding....I was lucky to have Sarah marry me before the effects of the drugs wore off...there's no way another lady would fall victim to the same trap. I love you. Happy Anniversary!

State Fair Madness

We had a great trip the Indiana State Fair this year. I cranked out a huge plate of loaded cheese fries and some nice chocolate and peanut butter fudge. And, I got a refillable root beer mug that treated me pretty well. Sarah went with a lemon shakeup that was 10 times better than the one we had a the fair in Terre Haute.
I used to think that I was the worst dad ever, but can you imagine if I would have forgotten the stroller? Well....Brian did just that. I don't even think it was that he forgot it; I think he intentionally left it at home because he was too lazy to load it in the car and he wanted to make Somer carry the kid all day while he looked at ladies.
We had a few good highlights from this years Fair. First, how about the "Pigs in the Mud" ---- chocolate covered bacon. For $5 you could get two chocolate covered strips of bacon. What a deal! Can anyone explain to me while we're all so fat?
Another highlight.....a thousand pound sculpture made of pure cheese. Come on, how can you not appreciate something like this? Can you imagine how big of a grilled cheese sandwich you could make? Can you imagine how many days it would before you became regular again after eating it? Perhaps my favorite display at the fair was the sand sculpture showing a "provocative" scene (to put it lightly. Look at the above picture and tell me that you don't see the sand rising up at a certain part of the males body...tell me you don't see the lady casually sitting by (dressed in her short skirt) checking it out. Also, you may want to up-size this picture and see Sarah in the background pointing out the display.
The kid was probably the biggest winner from this years fair. Look at her, she's crazy. She is just like her dad and eats this stuff up. I can't wait until she is a little older and chubby like I was and has a mullet like I had, so I can take her to the fair and share a corn dog, a lemon shakeup, and a good conversation about why you should go to college in order to avoid being a carnie.

Silencing the Critics

I'm reading over the latest comments on the blog and I can't help but be a little upset at the few followers that I thought I had. I mean, just because I'm a little busy taking care of business lately and a little bit behind on posts, you all want to string me up and complain about how uncool I am. I'm unhappy with your decision to criticise my actions (or lack of action in regards to posting), but I'm not going to single you all out and threaten to beat you all like Ike beat Tina (but I probably should).

So this morning I'm driving to a meeting and Sabotage by the Beastie Boys starts playing. It rocked pretty good and I realized that I should probably get back on here and silence the few followers (turned critics) that I have. The Beastie Boys are a very wise crew and you have them to thank for me getting the blogs posts going again and not just using this as a public forum to single each and every one of you out and try to destroy you both personally and professionally.
So...........for what it's worth, I guess I'm officially back.
Let the madness begin again!

WE WANT NEW BLOG POSTS!

Daniel, I know you have had time at work to make some new posts on the blog. You are losing followers every week you don't post. I think people have stopped checking our site because they know you are a slacker and haven't posted anything new. No one really wants to hear from me, but I only post because I get sick of looking at the same old stories and pictures. The people want better stuff than what I can give them.

Edwardson Reunion

This year at the Edwardson Reunion, Mary Lou Pine created t-shirts for all the kids in the family. It was very comical trying to get a group photo of all the kids. Erin Sabla was forced to hold two of the infants, India and Graham. As you can see from Erin's face (see below), Graham decided to spit up down Erin right before we snapped the photo! Good times. Daniel will never live down the infamous volleyball game "swing and a miss." India enjoyed some pool time with her daddy and daddy enjoyed way too much homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream.

The Kid Loves to Eat

Look at this chunker! We just started her on cereal and she loves it.
She eats like a wild animal when we get the cereal in front of her (this reinforces the idea that this might actually be my kid.....blood tests are still pending). It's pretty comical to watch the feeding frenzy every night before bedtime.

Summertime

Since Daniel has been slacking on posting, I thought I would just get on here quickly and make some comments. Wanted to wish a Happy Belated Birthday to Mom (Genny), Randy, DeAnna, Daniel's Grandpa John, and DeAnn Brown! Mom celebrated her 50th this year. Hopefully Daniel will post some pics of the big day soon. We celebrated with a "girl's day" at the spa for some pedicures. Then we were off to bar hop around town for drinks before meeting everyone at The Landing for dinner. It was a great day and I think Mom enjoyed it.

This weekend's schedule:
Tomorrow we have the Edwardson/Pine family reunion. We plan to eat too much, play some volleyball, and then get in some pool time (probably in that order). Tomorrow is also Brian's birthday. Who is bringing the cake? Sunday, we have Piper Beeler's 4th birthday party. She is having a "Fairy" party this year! How exciting. Rick and Somer are also celebrating birthday's next week. Wow... and Somer is turning the big 3-0 this year! I guess it is all about perspective because not that long ago it seemed that I felt 30 was old, but now, not so much. Maybe that is because in only a year and a half I will be celebrating it myself.

Here is Miss India in her little bikini swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Watsons about a month ago.
She loves the water.... when it is warm anyway.

Something to Think About...

"You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

"Fair" Game

The 2009 Vigo County Fair came to a close last week. Once again, the kids (Emma, Makayla, Isaac and Sadie) had tons of projects entered. People say they did job on everything, but let's be serious, they're kids....kids aren't very skilled. I'm not singling them out...I'm making a broad statement about all kids. I could do better than them wearing an eye patch, with one hand tied behind my back, while a monkey threw poison darts at me. I'm an exceptional case though.
Makayla and Sadie walked the runway again this year and did a great job. The outfits they made were pretty cool and they both walked away with ribbons. This could be their calling.

Let's be serious though. There are only two real reasons that people go to the fair, 1) to get carnie food and a lemon shake-up, and 2) to see the pigs, cows and crazy goats.
Just to fill you in, India and I had a lemon shake-up and an order of loaded cheese/bacon/chive/sour cream/more cheese fries. They rocked! And, I paid a little over $13 for them both. Who ever said that I was cheap?

New Ink

Mary and Tom picked up some really cool new ink last week (I know, I'm slow to finish this post). I got a few pics of the work....I forget the name of this style of font (I need some help here from somebody???), but you can read the tattoo as two different words depending upon how you look at it. If you read it upside down, it can say something else....i.e. "For Life" and "Til Death". This is the first time that I've seen this. It's pretty cool.

Mary also got a pretty sweet bracelet tattoo (that I don't have pictures of yet). More to come on this. Is Tom getting a massage or a tattoo here?

Troy Weber Still Leading at the 2009 World Series of Poker

Weber is still cranking it out at the 2009 World Series of Poker. He built his stack even more on day 2 and will start play today at noon as the chip leader (revised...he will start as the 3rd largest chip stack).

A special package was overnighted to Weber yesterday. I don't want to give anything away, but lets just say that Weber may be sporting a Taco Casita hat at the tables today.

Could This be West Terre Haute's First WSOP Bracelet Winner?

Troy Weber is dominating the field of over 8,600 players out in Las Vegas at this years main event in the 2009 World Series of Poker. He has emerged from Day 1 with almost twice as many chips as the next closest player. Not bad for a West Terre Haute kid! Troy "Hands" Weber apparently caught some good hands and had action when he needed it.
Best of luck Troy. We'd love to see you bring home the $8.5 million first place payout.

It's A Girl

Well, much to our surprise, Somer delivered a baby GIRL last night. She weighted in at 8 lbs. 1 oz. She is beautiful and both baby and mom are doing well. Tired, but hanging in there. It was a long 30+ hours for Somer, but baby girl Nourse has finally arrived! Hopefully we will have more pics of the baby soon. As of this afternoon, a name had still not been decided on. We will keep you updated.

Congrats Somer and Brian!

The Big Day

After nine grueling months, the time has come and Somer and Brian are approaching the beginning of parenthood and the end of life as they know it. Buckle your seat belt Brian, this is going to be a bumpy ride. Somer (shown here in a classic pose) will be going in to have the new kid at 5pm today. She'll be at the Taj Majal of hospitals....Community North in Indianapolis. Our local hospitals are bad, but Community North makes our local hospitals look the back alley clinic that you go to if you have an unfortunate accident when you're in Tijuana, Mexico.
Stay tuned...only the Pigg Blog will bring you up to date content concerning the Baby Nourse. Is it a girl or boy? How much will it weigh? Will it get Somer's good looks or be stuck with Brian's goofy looks? Will the paternity test show that Brian is the actual father?
We may even have exclusive delivery room footage!

We Came Close

Well, West Vigo didn't pull off the victory...but I still think they had a great showing. What a huge accomplishment just to make it to the State Championship! Congratulations to the men in green. Great season!
Can anyone tell me how my picture winds up in random newspaper articles? Maybe they thought that I was Derek Jeter???

Nourse Baby Watch

Counting down... we are 3 weeks away from the "Baby Nourse" arrival. Somer is now 37 weeks along. She looks great. According to the sonogram last week, the kid is already 6 pounds 11 ounces. That is the same size India was when she was born. They are still weeding through the baby name books, but I think Somer is leaning toward "Banjo Midnight" for a boy and "Prosper Appleseed" for a girl!

A great weekend

Here are a few pictures from last weekend's events. Friday night we had Zach's 21st birthday bash. Once someone gives me the photos of him puking off the balcony, I will post them here for all to see! I think he made it to around 12 shots before puking. Saturday night we had my 10-year class reunion at Holiday Inn. That was our first night away from India. She stayed all night with Grandma Genny and Grandpa Randy. She did well, but I don't think Grandma got much sleep. Thank you both for babysitting!

Happy 21st Birthday Zach!

Happy 21st Birthday to Zach! His birthday was actually this last Tuesday, but we are celebrating tonight at 7PM @ 7th & Elm (upstairs). Everyone is invited to join us, as long as you plan to buy Zach a shot or fruity drink with an umbrella (those are his favorite). I suggest shots such as the "cement mixer" or maybe some crown. I guess we could be nice and order him a buttery nipple (not sure the alternative, family-friendly, name for this shot) or lemon drop. I am only mentioning those because they are my favorite plus I know Daniel and Zach are laughing right now because I said the word "nipple!" I haven't had a drink in about a year now, so it all sounds really good to me. Not that Daniel and I are drinkers, but an occasional sangria or some Oliver wine would be nice.

See you all tonight!

Can anyone say overrated?

Let me apologize to all of you Rashad Evans fans out there.  It's unfortunate that your man took a Rodney King beat down last night.   It's too bad that he got beat.   I really liked him.....No, no I didn't.  In my opinion, Rashad is an overrated fighter who likes to showboat too much.  If he was a little more humble, I probably would like him a little more.  Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge Machida fan either, but last I was cheering for him last night.  Plus, how could you not cheer for a guy that enters the octagon wearing a Daniel La Russo Karate Kid outfit.
The fight turned out perfectly.  Machida brought him a fighting style that he wasn't used to and in the end, Rashad ate more of Machida's leather than I ate at the carnival last night. (security had to ask me to leave the all you can eat fried candy bar booth and then they had to roll me out.  It was embarrassing for Sarah).
Nice work Machida.  It looks like you won't be receiving hate mail from me this week.  Now I'm going to need you to dispose of my arch nemesis Rampage Jackson.

The Carnies are Coming

Step right up boys and girls, the carnival is here.
Ahhhhh! I can smell the overpriced deep fried snickers bars and elephant ears already.
Why is it that carnival food is so good? I think that I should probably start working on another masters thesis surrounding this question. Before I get too off track though, lets talk about the reality of the Wabash Valley Festival, aka The Fairbanks Park Arts & Musical Festival (I'm not sure this name is going to stick), aka "Dirtfest", aka "The Dirty Butt Festival". The festival is one of the greatest times of the year for us residents of the west side. We love it. We save months for it. We sell our food stamps and blood so our kids can ride the rides and eat the food. And if we have a few bucks left, we spend it on a sweet t-shirt from the midway with wolves on it howling at the moon, or, a short pair of shorts produced in 1992 that says "Can't touch this" for the wife.
Can it get any better than that? I think not.

Now that I have a kid, I have several duties as it relates to Dirtfest:
1. I must dress my kid to go the festival.....in a diaper only.
2. I must make sure that her feet are black with dirt.
3. I must put on my mesh tank top and cut off shorts.
3. I must make my wife put on a cut off shirt (to show her belly button ring) and perhaps a pair of high heels...just to class it up.
4. I must get a pitbull to take with us (this is an issue for us, because we don't own a pitbull). Too bad, I will have to borrow one, or pick one up from the humane society.
5. I must hit the midway and act like a drunken rock star, spending money like there is no tomorrow. I'll spend $25 to win 2 goldfish....I don't care.
6. I must go to the old fashioned picture booth and get dressed up in 1800's garb and have my picture taken....fake mustache and bottle of whiskey are optional.
7. I must reason with the tilt-a-whirl operator until he agrees that my 10 week old baby should be allowed to ride.
8. I must win my wife a giant stuffed alligator....even if it means spending the money that was meant for my babies formula.
9. I must go to Bracelet Night and wait in line for an hour next to 28 high school dropouts just to ride the Pirate Ship.
10. I must convince the 28 high school dropouts that I too am a high school dropout and that we should all go to IHOP after the ride.
11. I must laugh at all those people who leave the carnival at midnight, because I will know that I am better than them because me, my wife, and my 10 week old baby will stay there until at least 1am.
12. I must eat two sati-babis, an elephant ear, and a taco in a bag and drink a giant lemon shake up.
13. I must go home feeling disgusting and broke with a giant stuffed alligator in the backseat.

You know what is truly interesting about the carnival and carnies (other than the longstanding comment about them having small hands and smelling like cabbage)? We all go the carnival and get on rides that were put together by carnies in under a day. How safe do you think these rides are?......probably a little safer than the (convicted felon) carnies who operate the place!
Who cares? I'll see you all there this weekend!

Somer's Baby Shower

On May 2, I hosted a baby shower for Somer. She is now 6 weeks from delivery and looks great! We had a wonderful time and lots of good food. Somer and Brian got a lot of much needed "baby stuff." I cannot wait to post pictures of the nursery once they get it all decorated. Decorating the nursery and going through all the baby gifts is the fun part. Washing those little outfits and hanging them on those tiny hangers... I love putting India's clothes away! I am still in amazement by her tiny little socks. Enjoy every minute, because the baby will be here before you know it. Sleep, Sleep, Sleep while you still have a chance.

Action Hero

Yesterday our Club (the Terre Haute Breakfast Optimist's) had the great honor of recognizing Trooper Kris Fitzgerald of the Indiana State Police with the 2009 Kevin Artz Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award.
Trooper Fitzgerald dove into Sugar Creek and rescued a teenager from frigid water. It's actions like this that make you proud of our law enforcement officials who put their lives on the line every day.
Congratulations to a very deserving individual. You can read the entire account at: http://www.tribstar.com/local/local_story_134224510.html

Happy Mother's Day

My first mother's day has came and went. We celebrated with our mothers and grandmother at St. Mary's this year. Their brunch was wonderful. Daniel and I ate more than necessary because of course Daniel had to make it worth the money! Thankfully, we went early and beat the crowd. We followed it up with a little nap, trip to the new Sonic to get my favorite Lemon-berry slush, a visit to Lowes where I got my own set of tools, and then back home to relax a little more. I now need to find something to work on so I can break out my new tool set! While India and I relaxed, Daniel put the new hardware we purchased onto the kitchen cabinets. This was long overdue, considering we have been in the house now for 2 years almost and have yet to have hardware on the cabinets. What an improvement.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Although I am new to motherhood, I have learned in the last 2 months that being a mother is much harder than it looks and that mothers should be celebrated 365 days a year... not just one.

Five Generations

Last week we went to visit Granny at the nursing home. We finally were able to get a 5 generations photo that included Granny, Grandma Rita, Dad, myself, and India. Granny looked good and was her usual witty self. Amazingly, Dad even smiled for a few of the shots.

A Successful Day

Thank you to everyone that made the breakfast and yard sale for the Tonya Edwardson Memorial Scholarship Fund a success this past Saturday. The ladies at West Vigo served up a yummy breakfast. Daniel and I ate the biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. It was not on our diet, but we couldn't resist. Grandma Rita and Mary really put in a lot of time gathering and setting everything up for the yard sale. Overall, I believe the day brought in around $4100 (don't quote me on that).

Saturday was also Erin Sabla's birthday. She celebrated by working at the yard sale all morning. Here are a few pics from the day.

Irony

Without reading ahead, does anyone know who said these words:
"Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."
"Most people spend more time and energy going around problems than in trying to solve them."

The late Henry Ford spoke these words several years ago. I find both of these quotes pretty ironic given the dire situation faced by Ford, GM, and several other auto manufacturers. Does anyone else think it's time for these companies to see the writing on the wall and get back to what made them successful when they started (when they had a great leader in Henry Ford)? Apparently our government still does not see the writing, because our only solution is to throw more (of our) money at the problem. Surely a business can't continue to operate inefficiently and lose money forever, right? So far, it seems that it can. Maybe Ford and GM should employ the WWHD approach.......What Would Henry Do! WWHD about the companies and their operations? I think he would cut executive positions and salaries, kick executives off of the corporate jets, and look for new ways to compete with our foreign competitors who have been handing it to us for several years now. WWHD about unions? I think he would give them a simple ultimatum.....work for this fair amount or don't work at all. WWHD about dealers? I think he would tell them that there doesn't need to be a dealer on every corner and that they need to stop building dealership buildings that resemble the Taj Majal. A car dealership can operate in a much more modest building.

This is just my 2 cents though. What do I know?

Another week...

India is now 6 weeks old. That is amazing. She is over 8 pounds and growing. I thought I would get so much done while I was on maternity leave, but have yet to even check off one item. I have however learned to do almost everything one-handed... like eating and typing. I have learned to eat a meal and shower at record speed because she can only occupy herself for a few minutes at a time. Do all new mothers walk around with half shaved legs?

She has been doing better regarding sleeping at night though. Last night she sleep in her cradle for almost 5 hours! For the last few weeks she wouldn't sleep unless you held her on your chest. The best part about my day is when she smiles and talks, which she is doing more and more of everyday.

Look at that face. You cannot help but smile when you see that face.

What else is going on this week...

It has 2 years this week since Grandpa (Dick Edwardson) passed away. We love and miss you Grandpa.

Tonight we have the Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser Dinner. We are dropping India off down at the WTH ballpark to watch her Uncle Kyle's baseball game while we are at the dinner. Good luck Kyle! At last Saturday's game, Kyle pitched and struck out 9 batters in the first three innings. Way to go Kyle.

Happy Tax Day

Don't forget to file your taxes by today if you don't want a visit from The Man.
Also, if you don't file, you may never have a chance to get a future nomination for the Treasury Secretary job. (just something to think about!)
This will be a joyous time for Sarah and I next year, as we'll get another great tax deduction! Finally the kid will start showing some return on investment.

We miss you Tonya! (posted by Sarah)

Well... Daniel is taking care of India, so I finally have a few minutes to get on the computer. I was thinking of Tonya today, like everyday, and how much we all miss her. Tonya and Dana bought India a diaper bag for my baby shower, so everytime I use it, I am reminded of her. It always brings a smile to my face when I see it, even if I am reaching for a baby wipe to change a poopy diaper! I wish India could have met her. I wanted to post one of my favorite pictures of Tonya. I didn't feel it appropriate to include for the slideshow at the church service (even though I thought about slipping it in there), so I am posting it here. From the looks of it, she probably took my money the night this picture was taken. This picture always makes me smile! This is how I remember Tonya... happy, smiling, goofy, and enjoying life.

We love and miss you Tonya.
Please join us for a breakfast and yard sale on April 25th at the WTH American Legion. All proceeds go to the Tonya Edwardson Scholarship Fund.

The Kids First Trip

The Pigg Family made history again last week as we made the trek to Indianapolis. This was India's first trip of any distance. It was a four day event that started with me in class for three days and then taking a Certified Risk Manager test and then ended with Sarah, India and I heading over to Somer and Brian's to help them put down new flooring in then kitchen, foyer and laundry room.

Zach, Brian and I worked for 15 hours on the flooring! We ended up finishing everything up at 3:00 am. I think the floor came out great. It will be a totally new kitchen once the new appliances and counter tops are put in.

American Dream or American Entitlement?

"The political machine triumphs because it is a united minority acting against a divided majority." Will Durant

Okay, I thought that I would get on here and preach for a moment. (While you're reading this, please refer to me as Brother Pigg) Last night we had another Presidential address meant to calm the American people, give direction on a host of plans, and hopefully stabilize the market. Let me start off by saying that I think our President is doing a fine job with what he has to work with. Has he made some mistakes? Sure. Has he done some great things? Sure. The overwhelming problem that I have with the President's remarks over the last few months have nothing to do with health care or the environment. The problem that I have focuses on American entitlement. For some reason, there has been a paradigm shift over the last few decades and we as Americans now feel that we are entitled to a new $200,000 home, two new cars in the driveway, and a $70,000 salary right out of college.....and by the way, we don't want to work hard for any of this.
There was once a thing called "The American Dream". This dream was a little different for everyone, but it almost always included buying and moving into your own home (just picture the small farmhouse with a white picket fence) and having a few dollars to spend on the finer things such as a newer car or going on a vacation. Do yourself a favor and talk to a few people over 50 years old about their American Dream. You'll find that even though there are subtle differences in everyones Dream, the common thread that they all share is how they achieved the Dream. What is the common thread? Hard work and planning. Older generations didn't expect to have things handed to them. They worked for them. Older generations didn't graduate from high school and immediately expect a high paying job and immediately move into a large new house and immediately buy a new car. It's more likely that they graduated from high school (maybe) and then started work at a low level job that they probably hated.........but it put food on the table....and then got their first (small) apartment or (small) house that they could afford and if they were lucky they bought a single car that was under 5 years old.
It's my belief that what made our country great was not only our citizens hunger for more and better things, but also the overwhelming belief that hard work makes the Dream possible. Everyone wanted the American Dream....a house with a picket fence and car. Everyone was willing to work for it!
In contrast to this, we now have what I call American Entitlement. We don't want things...we expect them. We don't want to work for things or take the time needed to save for a new home or car....we want them now....with little effort or work. We no longer have the American Dream that causes a hunger for more and better things. We now have the American Entitlement that causes a belief that we should have whatever we want whenever we want even if we haven't worked for it or can't afford it. We have the belief that we shouldn't work for a living, we should expect the government to take care of us and pay for our mistakes.
Have we become so lazy and narcissistic as a people that it is below us to live in a smaller (economical) house (until we can actually afford our dream house) or not drive a new car (until we can actually afford it)?
The failing economy, the problematic job market, and the housing woes are all results of the new sense of American Entitlement. Our leaders should not be telling us that we can turn things around by going out and buying or building a new house or buying a new car. Our leaders should be telling us that we all can achieve the American Dream and fix all of our economic problems, BUT it is going to take time, hard work, and a shift in the way we think and act financially.
There are two things that are important to remember:
1) We are in serious trouble if we don't make some dramatic changes. This isn't a Disney movie, so there won't be a happy ending if we don't make it. History has taught us that all great empires eventually fall; and
2) We are the United States....the greatest and strongest country on earth! We are Americans....the proudest people on earth! History has also taught us that we have faced struggles similar to the one we are currently facing and we have come back stronger and more resilient than before. We can and will prevail because of this!

Amen.

Happy Friday!

Here we are again. Another Friday. We have day 2 of tournament action today. Kansas will be in action against powerhouse North Dakota State. I'm predicting an early exit for North Dakota State. On a similar subject....what happened to Illinoise last night (that's right, I pronounced is Illi-Noise!). They left the tournament quicker than OJ Simpson leaving the crime scene. They looked worse than AIG's fourth quarter numbers.

Introducing....India Marie Pigg

You've all been asking for it and now you have it...after MUCH debate, we have decided to name our new bundle of joy India Marie Pigg.
Here are a couple more photos for those who have been asking...
India and Sarah are both doing great. We should be able to go home by tomorrow morning. Thank you all for your support, gifts and prayers. We are very excited to have the new addition.

It's a kid

We finally made it! At 9:21 this evening, we had a beautiful baby girl. She is 6 lbs. 12 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. It was a long day for Sarah and baby, but everything went great. It's around 1:30am now so I'm going to make this a short post and try to contact everyone tomorrow to tell them the good news. We are exhausted!

Still no Kid

We got to the hospital at 9 O'clock last night. Sarah is doing really good so far.

It's around 11:20 AM right now. The painful contractions are just kicking in! Sarah just asked for the epidural and they told her that the anesthesiologist will be busy for another hour. GREAT. That's just the answer that Sarah wasn't looking for. I remind them of the Domino's pizza guarantee....it's done in 30 minutes or it's free.....the nurse explains that what I'm saying is ridiculous and that no such thing exists in health care. They did offer up the alternate...morphine. Sarah declined. I accepted. The nurse does not think I am funny.

We still don't have a name picked out!

Some quick overnight hospital stats:
Number of rooms that share our bathroom = 2 (don't forget to lock the door or someone in a neighboring room will surprise you)
Number of minutes slept last night = 85
Number of hot nurses that work the night shift = 1
Year the TV in our room was made = 1985
Price my dad would charge for the TV in our room if he sold it at the Piggsty = $10
Number of times I've watched the same episode of SportsCenter = 6
Baby's average heart rate = 150
Number of showers available to use in our current room = 0
Coolest person in the maternity ward = me

Close One

We had a close call yesterday. This was the scene outside of our office.....9 cop cars came swarming in (you would have thought that Krispy Kreme opened a new location next to us). Now, a normal person would have wondered what was going on. I, however, did what came instinctively and quickly erased my hard drive on my computer and threw a ton of documents into a burn bag.
To my surprise and delight, I found out that they were not here for me though. It's looking like the authorities will never take me down...because I rock!
Apparently, some homer found it fitting to get all liquored up at 2:30 in the afternoon and then crash his truck into a parked car on the street outside of our office. He then failed (horribly) all of the sobriety tests.
How about those tax dollars hard at work here. 9 officers, one ambulance, and one fire truck equipped with ladder. I think we were all relieved when the fire truck with the ladder showed up. Things would have definitely got out of hand without it.

I think I'm back

Okay, I think I'm back from my blogging vacation. I could tell you that I've been too busy to post, but let's be honest, I've been too lazy. Lazy and demotivated. Some of you are smart enough to know that I haven't been too busy (notice how I emphasize some). It took a major event to wake me up and get me writing...it was last night when I saw a middle-aged woman walk by with one of the sweetest mullets I have ever seen. She had 1980's style hair that was a foot thick with the business in the front and the party in the back. I didn't have my camera available....and for that I am sorry.
Obama..........Capitalism.............Classic!
I'll be working to make all of your lives better by posting much more frequently. Please stop with the threatening emails....I know I haven't posted in a while.........that's no reason to call me names and tell me about how disappointed I make you. My wife can handle both of these duties.

No Baby Yet

I figured since Daniel has not made a post in awhile, I would give you all the baby update.  No baby yet!  Still waiting... my due date is this Saturday, Feb. 28. We are excited for her to get here and for me, that could not come soon enough. I am ready.  I am ready to say goodbye to this heartburn that keeps me awake and sleeping upright all night and the nasal congestion I have had for the last 9 months. Oh and I am ready to say goodbye to the extra 30 pounds of weight I have been carrying around. Not that it will come off right away.

On a more positive note, we cannot wait for her to arrive and once we see her face, we can hopefully decide on a name and stop calling her "Baby Girl Pigg." We go to the doctor tomorrow morning  and will hopefully know more then.

Stimulus Day At Taco Casita

Well My Friends, I believe the event was a huge success. There was at least a 10 minute wait in line and at one point it was standing room only with people searching for chairs. In case you're wondering, I'm talking about the Taco Casita Stimulus event held at Taco Casita from 11am to 2pm today. Check out my lunch above...it's the usual....King Sancho - Hot and Wet - with a money shot of sour cream. There is only one word to describe it.....beautiful. How about this picture.....it's the Con (connoisseur) showing off his Taco Casita t-shirt. We were lucky to have him in our presence today. His following is on his Facebook group "All Things Casita" is unbelievable.
Steve and Misty Creasey have never looked so happy. Does it get any better than the thumbs up photos....I think not! Unfortunately, they didn't get to stay and eat with us, but we did have some good conversation while they were waiting for their order. What do you thinks in the bag? I'm betting that they went with the Wet Plate.

Mullet of the Week

This is an old pic that was submitted by Captain Brian and Somer.
Check out the skill that they use to get such a great photo. Somer places herself perfectly in the shot, as Brian takes a brilliant photo. The untrained eye would only see Somer smiling in front of a fleet of cars. But to the Mullet Connoisseur, you can see the "curly mullet" standing over Somer's right shoulder. Nice work! And, as if that wasn't good enough....check out the "Mullet Protector" that this lady is wearing. I think it's one of Billy Mays' products. I'm sure she bought it at 3 AM from an infomercial.

One Day.....Two Birthdays!

Sarah and Lily both turned a year older last Friday.

Lily had a great party at a "jump and play" place on Saturday afternoon. Pizza was ordered, so I probably had the best time of anyone. She turned one year old and did the traditional dive into the cake and destroy your outfit thing. It's always funny to see crazy kids do that. My kid will not be allowed, as I do not want her to mess up her outfit. If she does, it will have to be paid for out of her piggy bank.

Unfortunately, I gave Sarah a horrible gift this year. She got the cold/flu that I had last week. We stayed in downtown Indy on Saturday night and attempted to go to P.F. Chang's. (Sarah had her heart set on it --- you can see her excitement in the picture above) Being a great husband, I had made no reservations and thus, after we were advised that there was an hour and a half wait, we promptly walked next door and ate at Champps. It was still pretty good, but Sarah only ate a few bites. I, on the other hand, ordered the Mile High Ice Cream Pie and they had to roll me out of there after I was done.

Happy Birthday to you both!

Baby Nourse on the Way (posted by Sarah)

I do not believe Daniel has posted the news on the blog yet.  We wanted to allow Somer and Brian to tell everyone themselves, but I thought it was about time we mention it on here. Somer (my sister) and Brian are expecting their first baby here at the end of June.  We are so excited for them!  Somer is around 20 weeks along now, about half way there. They are not going to be finding out the sex of the baby.  It will have to be a surprise!

Somer seems to be over the morning sickness stage and feeling better.  Brian is as proud as can be.  They are going to be wonderful parents.  We are excited to be having our babies so close together in age.  It will make for exciting and crazy holidays. I do not believe they have names picked out yet for either sex, so lets hear what your suggestions are going to be for the Nourse family.

Baby's Room (posted by Sarah)

I love this butterfly mobile. This is probably my favorite piece in her room. The crib was actually Kyle's old crib that Mom had in the attic. It worked perfect!
Some custom artwork for the room. She will never learn to spell correctly with us as parents.

Daniel did a great job painting this old dresser we got from my Granny's house. With a few coats of white paint and new hardware, it almost looks like the dresser I wanted to order from Pottery Barn, only about $600 less.

Well... we still have some work to do, but for the most part, the baby's room is finally coming together. With only 3 weeks to go, it is about time! I had such a hard time deciding on things, especially the colors. We both agreed that we were not into a themed or character room, so I went with something simple. We didn't want to paint since we are trying to sell the house, so we did what we could aside from that to make it feel like a little girl's room. I still need to find some mirrors to put above the dresser, a new lamp, and a side table for the rocker (I am sure Daniel will disagree with this). Once we get a few more things on the walls, it will feel a little more complete. She has everything she needs now, so whenever she is arrives, we will be ready! Well, I guess I shouldn't say ready, because we both still have no clue what to do with a baby. How to feed it, change it, bathe it. We have been waiting on our manual in the mail any day now on how all this will go, but it has yet to arrive. Maybe they will give it to us at the hospital.

A special thank you to everyone for all the baby shower gifts! We cannot thank you enough. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. Without your help, Daniel probably would have had a heart attack if we had to do this all alone. We didn't realize how much a baby really needs until we started shopping around. Thank you Somer, Erin, Mom, Mary, Grandma, and the ladies at work for the three wonderful baby showers!

We cannot wait for our little girl to arrive any day now. For those of you still wondering, we have yet to decide on a name. We will surprise you all once she arrives!!

37 Weeks

Sarah is 37 weeks now. She keeps commenting on how much weight she has gained (its all in her belly) and how she looks horrible, but I think she looks beautiful. I'm lucky to have her!
We are in the final stretch of the pregnancy with only 4 weeks left. I'm feeling great at this point. I haven't had morning sickness the entire pregnancy. But, I did notice that some spicy buffalo wings upset my stomach a little last week.
The kid still has no name, but her room is coming along nicely (stay tuned for pics).
Thank you all for the support and shower gifts. We have tons of great stuff that I don't know how to use.

Snow Day

We got a little snow out at our place. The weatherman called it 10 inches, but the drift outside of our house was a lot closer to 18 inches and deeper in spots. (the weather guy doesn't know what he's talking about anyway).
It should be noted that a 2 wheel drive Saturn does not do well in this type of snow. After an hour of shoveling, cursing, and complaining about not having my 4 wheel drive truck anymore, I thought that I was done. Then, something miraculous happened....a snowplow was heading our way. I was sure that this would clear the way on our road....and it did. It pushed all the snow that was out in the road back into the our driveway that I had just shoveled (good one snowplow driver). Some people would waive their favorite gesture, but I laughed it off and started shoveling again. Karma is kicking 2009 off with a bang.
Dax enjoyed all of the snow, but after about 10 minutes in it, he was ready for his warm bed again.

Lily's Birthday

Lily and Sarah both have birthdays coming up on February 6th. Lily wants a new 42" flat screen. Sarah wants a new dresser and a better looking husband.
I already got Sarah her gift. It's a kid. It took me about 3 minutes to make. (insert joke here)
Here are a few of Lily's latest pics. Crazy kids.

STILL Cooking

The kid is almost done. We are about 6 weeks away from what I will now refer to as "D-Day". Mom and baby are both doing great so far. Sarah looks like she could pop already though. At last check, Baby Pigg was 3 lbs. 10 oz. (that was last week). Sarah and I are thinking that she may come out a chunker.

We are still taking suggestions for names. Get them in quick.

Are you coming to the party?

My Fellow Americans,
I hope this message finds you well......with the economy in the crapper, commodities prices on the rise, a lack of sufficient health care and skyrocketing costs, empty retirement funds, record high unemployment levels, corporate cutbacks, and an over all feeling of hopelessness and desperation in society.
But wait, there's good news! We're having a party for all of us and the new President. Don't feel like you need to bring a side dish, as we are already dishing out over $160 million of our money on the festivities.
Can you believe this crap? We have to pay $160 million for our new leader to have a party celebrating himself. This is ridiculous. This is the same gentleman that supposedly lashed out at the CEO's and corporations for their greed and "corporate sins".
This is a horrible start for someone who is supposed to turn our nation around and be the "CHANGE" in Washington. He has definitely changed something already. His spending on this party is over 3 times what prior Presidents Bush and Clinton spent on their inauguration festivities.
I don't know about about you, but I can think of a lot of better things to spend the money on. As American taxpayers, I think we are entitled to a breakdown of the costs of the event.
Whose pocketbooks do you think are getting lined from this event?
By the way, did you know that the government earmarks $49 million for the inauguration. I enjoyed the recent comment from a spokeswoman for the joint congressional committee on inaugural ceremonies. It went like this, "We are always very budget conscious. But we are sending a message to the entire world about our peaceful transition of power, and you do not want it to look like a schlock affair. It needs to be appropriate to the magnitude of events that it is." Well, I don't know about you, but after hearing that comment, I feel a lot better about spending $160 million on the event. If the government would have just mentioned up front that they were being "budget conscious" then I would never have went on this rant.

Did I Forget the Christmas Joy?

Christmas was another success. Santa came and went and we got some cool stuff. We are thankful once again that made it through another year and had a great time with all of our family. With that being said, I can't wait until we have our house built so we can host Christmas and possibly New Years. It's been my dream to not have to leave the house for Christmas.
It will probably come as no surprise that I got a stocking full of coal again. I'm used to it. The joke will be on Santa in a few years when gas prices are sky high and he's looking for an alternative fuel source for his sleigh.....and I'm sitting on a fortune in coal that I've amassed over the years.....sucker!
Sarah got me a cool blanket (that Dax cannot steal) and I got her an electric blanket (great minds think alike). To be honest, I think I like the electric blanket more than she does. But, we both benefit from it. Dax got the standard...bones, a new sweater and a bottle of Boones Farm.

Up in Flames

Question: What do you get when you have 6 cords and Christmas lights all plugged into one power strip?
Answer: An apartment up in flames. Ah, Christmas 2009....one to remember. We went to Genny and Randy's in the morning. Then we hustled over to my sisters to meet my family. Then we headed over to my Grandma's. Exhausted, we finally made it home at 7:00 pm. The phone rings at 7:02....I don't answer it. The person leaves a voice mail. 2 minutes later Sarah's phone rings and her brother tells her that he thinks the apartments are on fire. She laughs (mainly because he lives in one of them) and she thinks it's another one of his pranks. She hangs up and then tells me the story. I grab my phone and call back the person that just left me a message. He tells me that he's standing back watching flames shoot 30 feet over the apartments. I put on some old clothes and throw the pregnant lady in the car. We pull up to find complete madness. Bolton Road is entirely blocked off. Fire trucks are everywhere with lights strobing. (this was the first time that I had the best Christmas lights in the area). Firemen are on the roof and in the road hosing the place down. My phone starts ringing off the hook from people calling to tell me about what I'm looking at. I make it up front and talk to a couple of the renters. I'm told that everyone made it out alright; so I have that going for me....which is nice. As I'm milling around, I hear a random "Hey ----sucker". I spin around and see Roush in full firefighter gear covered in soot. We have a small laugh and then I'm given the low down on how the fire may have started: Option 1: the tenant had a massive pile of cords plugged in together and she mentioned that she "felt it getting really hot" a few days before the fire, or, Option 2: the tenant may have lit a cigarette and then sat it down....she can't remember. She was home when the fire started and apparently tried to put it out with a few buckets of water before calling the fire department. To cap off the night, I had to sit and watch the building for several hours after the fire department left to make sure it didn't start back up and burn the rest of the apartments. It looks like I may have to take three of the apartments down to the ground before I can rebuild. Once again, Karma is kicking me in the crotch. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Pooh on this

Sadly, our beloved pal has had enough with life and is turning to the bottle for answers. I ran into Pooh out by our property last weekend and noticed that he had a crazy look in his eyes and smelled of Jim Beam. He kept ranting about when life was good....when he had all the honey that he could eat and all lady bears that he could handle. Now, his life is in shambles. He lost his job and everything he owned during the actors strike. His fortunes from his early career were spent on boozing and women bears (he had a thing for pandas). If only he would have taken my advice and invested some of it.

Pooh has been hanging around (literally) on a fence post near our property for over a year. But, it wasn't until recently that I noticed the addition of a Jim Beam tallboy. He had it all and now he is reduced to a ratty looking bear that is missing an ear. What's next? He'll probably move in with Gary Coleman or Andy Dick. That's when the real trouble starts.
We are having a group intervention on Wednesday night at Genny and Randy's house. We figured that New Year's Eve is a good time for anyone to kick a drinking addiction....there is no temptation at all.
