Alamo Sucks

I'm going to throw out a small piece of advice if you do go to Costa Rica (or anywhere else that you need a car rental). DON'T rent from Alamo.

Let me explain.......We made reservations for a 4x4 vehicle for the week that we were there. When we arrived to check in, they pulled the bait and switch on us and gave us the smallest car that they had and they tried to charge us for the larger vehicle. According to Alamo, they had no other vehicles for us. After about an hour of listening to their lies and hearing them snicker, we took the super compact car. It took three days for us to actually get the vehicle we reserved. The bad thing was, they lied to us everyday about how they were bringing our car and they would promise that it would be there "by 4 O'clock".
They lie to your face with a smile. But, when you're a foreigner in someone else's country, you really don't have a choice but to take all the crap they give you.
That's why it's so great to live in the U.S. We can sit back and dish out the crap to everyone that wants to come into our country.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, we should send some troops down to Costa Rica and take over. Their infrastructure is horrible (they need help with roads and utilities) and they are the only country without a military, so we wouldn't face opposition. We could make it a major tourist spot and exploit the exports that they provide (pineapples, papayas, and monkeys that throw poop). Also, we could give the 80% of the people that now stand around watching the grass grow a chance for a good job (in a resort) that pays $5 per day.
