Yesterday our Club (the Terre Haute Breakfast Optimist's) had the great honor of recognizing Trooper Kris Fitzgerald of the Indiana State Police with the 2009 Kevin Artz Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award.

Trooper Fitzgerald dove into Sugar Creek and rescued a teenager from frigid water. It's actions like this that make you proud of our law enforcement officials who put their lives on the line every day.
