Darn Stairs

Here is a look at the stairs going up to the second floor.  Sarah wanted the risers to be painted white.  The top paint coat isn't on yet, but it looks like it will look good once completely finished.   I had a pretty good learning curve on this project, as I've never put down hardwood on stairs or put up the side trim boards.  This first pic is the before shot showing the rough stairs on top and the first few pieces being applied on the bottom.
The treads are the hand scraped hickory that we used throughout the house.  The risers are 3/4" pine.   I used a combination of construction adhesive and finish nails to hold the treads and risers down since the staple gun wouldn't fit into the space. 
I'm doing the other two stairways with treads and risers made of the hickory.  Should be lots of fun getting those done!
