This is the homemade mantel that I carved (with a chainsaw) from a tree that fell on our property. It came out looking really cool --- and I saved a few hundred dollars by making it myself.

This is a snapshot of the bar pre-stone...
Our basement was destroyed when we were doing the stone. Dust and dirt everywhere. I think the cleanup took as long as the installation of the stone.
