Hard Wood

Anyone that loves hardwood floors has never had to install them!
Our hardwoods are going in now and they look great....but....the labor involved is ridiculous! My back and knees hurt like an old mans. 
Here are the before and after pics of our kitchen:

We went with a 3/4" hand scraped hickory made by Great Lakes.  If you buy hickory hardwoods, expect to have serious trouble using any small drill bit or jigsaw on them.  Cuts need to be made with a table saw.  I've already broke two bits and wore out 2 jigsaw blades.

On a positive note, the floor looks awesome when it is down.  Only a few thousand more square feet to go! By the way, can someone teach me how to lay hardwood on the stairs?  The learning curve on that aspect of this project should be interesting.

Next up....kitchen cabinets!
